That is what Katja tell us about herself and her creativity:

"I'm Katja, 41 years old and I'm from the Netherlands, Europe. Married to Wilbert for almost 12½ years and we have two daughters.

I really love making cards. A few years ago I did start making scrap-cards when I was on a crafting weekend with some crafting friends... and haven't stopped since. I love rubber stamps but most of the time I use digital images (digistamps) coloured with copics. Sometimes I try to color with Distress Inks but I find that difficult. I really love the Teddy Bo stamps and I’m honoured to be in the spotlight today!"

Top Tips Thursday

Good Morning to you all.....today's tutorial is for applying a digital graphic to a candle...this makes a lovely gift for a loved one or for yourself...x

Ingredients
Candle
Tissue Paper
Greaseproof Paper
Copier Paper
Masking Tape
Heat Gun
Pens ( they work better then pencils because of the amount of colour you need)
Scissors

First you need to stick the tissue paper onto the copier paper using the masking tape, you need to make sure it's as smooth as possible, that way it won't jam in your printer (yes I did make that mistake the first time!)

Next comes the fun part choosing which image to put onto your candle, I have used the new Olifant image that you can find in the shop HERE I have opened it in Photoshop as you need the image to be in the middle (ish) of the page when you print it out.

And here it is once it's printed

Next it's the really fun part, colouring in - now you need to use darker colours than you normally use to colour the image as the colour sinks into the tissue paper and also as you transfer it onto the candle the wax dullens the colours. I always go one shade darker, so for Olifant I normally use my Promaker Warm Grey 1 but started with Warm Grey 2 and build up from there. At this stage the tissue paper should still be stuck to the copier paper.

Next you need to take the tissue paper of the copier paper and roughly cut around the image.

Next you need to place the image onto the candle, making sure that the image is in the correct place.

Next wrap the Greaseproof paper tight against the candle and turn your heat gun onto the slowest setting (if you have it) gently move the gun in small circular movements.....wait until the image changes colour.

Once you have done this over all the image slowly peal the Greaseproof paper off and you should be left with the image on the candle. If you have missed any bits just go over them again. Then rub with kitchen paper to make the candle shine.

Next add any extra embellishments you wish and you have made a beautiful present for someone (ummmm or if you're like me - a beautiful pressie for me!!!)

And if I have been forced to give them away for presents why not add a birthday greeting to the back of the candle? My daughters friends love that!

Happy Teddy Bo Tuesday!!

Good Morning Teddy Bo-ettes.....how are you all this morning?!??!?! It's another 'fresh' day here at the Towers...it's trying to snow again...so with all this bad weather and our design team's reluctance to wear much clothing or go outside without a tankful of schnapps!!....we've been doing some Spring Cleaning this week. Let me tell you....there are cobwebs in places you WOULDN'T expect them...isn't that right Colette!!?!?!?

Helle (our resident 'cocktail shaker') has been walking the floorboards at night awaiting the birth of her first Granddaughter......well.....thank goodness this little angel has finally arrived as Helle was driving us all potty (she has a VERY squeaky floorboard in her room and kept picking that one to walk over!!) So how delighted was she when this photo arrived on the Teddy Bo T'internet to show us what she looked like....

She's only 3 days old here and isn't she just beautiful. Little Jessica doesn't know us all yet (we'll break her in gently)...but her 'extended' Teddy Bo family want to wish her and her family lots of cuddles and kisses...we have packed Helle off for a couple of days back home to visit this precious little baby and have warned her she must make her partner Freddy take LOTS and LOTS of pictures.....xxxx

Terribly Tardy Top Tips Thursday

Sorry we're running a bit late today.

I think it was due the Haggis getting over excited yesterday as it was Burns night and they kept turning the clocks back so they could keep celebrating!!!???!!!

Anyway I've done the tutorial this week for a mini book style gift box

So what do you need?

Card to make the box - I've used a sheet of 12 x 12

Paper to decorate

Ribbon or lace

Teddy Bo Image - I've used TeddyBo_049 (the rubber stamp)

Scoreboard

Cut 2 pieces of card - one 6 1/2 inches square, the other 3 1/2 by 7 1/2

Score 1 inch and 2 inches from each side - these measurements will make you a box that is 2 1/2 inches square by 1 inch tall.

Cut away the corners as in the picture above to leave tabs and apply tape or glue then fold up into a double walled box.

Score the other piece of card 3 1/4 inches from each of the shorter ends to make the outside.

Then decorate as you wish.

I've used ribbon here to tie the box closed. I stuck it to the front of the box with tape then folded it up before attaching it to the back to make sure it would close without pulling too tight.

I've stuck the box into the cover using tape as I'm not very good with wet glue

Then all you need to do is fill it with treats. I originally made these to hold the favours at my wedding but Bo and Bea hadn't been born then so they had hearts on lol!

I hope you will have a go at making this - you can adjust the size by changing the measurements but make sure you allow enough for both sides before you cut your card - how many times have I done that making boxes???!!!???

Teddy Bo Top Tips Thursday

We have a real treat for you as a tutorial today!!!!

You may remember that last week we gained a hostage at the Towers so we decided to make her write a tutorial as part of her ransom.

Unfortunately for Kirsty-Anne she did so well we're going to be keeping her a bit longer although she is building up a bit of resistance to all our alcoholic beverages so we may have to send someone off on a foraging mission for some new ingredients...........

Anyhoo - do you remember seeing this wonderful wallet on the challenge blog???

Now you can make one of your own

What you need

Textured card stock I have used Core'dinations ColorCore Great White 12x12 .You could emboss regular white card instead.
6mm double sided tape .
Distress Ink Black Soot (Why not try a different colour ?) , Blending tool , Craft mat
Sewing Machine ( You could do faux stitching if you don't have a machine) & Paper Trimmer / Scoreboard
Brad , snap , or button . I used my cropadile with a snap .
Teddybo Images . I used a pre coloured graphic Teddybo_172 called Teddybo text & your choice of Embellishments.

Instructions in inches (cms in brackets)

Part One Base of Wallet

1. Cut a piece of card 12 inches (30.5cm) by 51/2 inches (14cm). Score at 5.1/2 inches (14cm) so the wallet can fold over.
2. To make the tab to close the wallet also score at 11 inches (27.9cm). Turn card stock and score at 1 1/2 inches(3.8cm) and at 4 inches(10.2cm) Just to the scoreline you have just done. Cut off corners in pink to leave the tab as shown in picture .

Part Two Inside Wallet (Pockets)
1. Cut 6 pieces of the same card stock for the pockets . one of each of the following ;-

5 inch (12.7cm) x 2 inch (5.1cm)
5 inch (12.7cm) x 3 inch (7.6cm)
5 inch (12.7cm) x 4 inch (10.2cm)

5.1/2 inch (14cm) x 2 inch (5.1cm)
5.1/2 inch (14cm) x 3 inch (7.6cm)
5 1/2 inch (14cm) x 4 inch(10.2cm)

2. Distress large piece of card on both sides using your distress ink pad and blending tool in circular motions. Distress ink small panels on one side . It does not matter much how you do it and how much you put on it all adds to the effect ! though having lighter and darker areas seems to look cool ! . Leave to dry. You could even use Crackle paint for an even better leather look ! but would need
overnight to dry .

3. Sew all your panels and base piece individually around the edges and even around the tab !. On the larger set of panels sew up the middle for smaller pockets . Layer the panels biggest first on top of each other on your large laid out piece of card stock as shown in picture . Use double sided tape to adhere the panels remember not to tape the top parts !! or you won't be able to put anything in them !.

4. Fold the wallet at your fold line . This is the fun part add your Teddybo Images , ribbon , brads. Use a button or snap, to the tab ! Why not make a mini credit card or slip in some vouchers or a label ! Add a name or word using chipboard or cricut machine !.

Happy Teddy Bo Tuesday...and what a special Tuesday it is as one year ago today (tomorrow if we're going by dates) I brought my newly designed little bears to the internet for all to see....I say for all to see...at that point there was me, the Design Team girls and a few ladies who had 'followed' us over Christmas!! Little did any of us know at that time how popular the little bears would become. Blogland has been VERY kind to us and I'd like to thank you all for the beautiful cards that I see....the words of encouragement.....the fabulous ideas....and the emails from you....I love nothing better than 'chatting' with you all....xxxxxx

Well did you have a good time over Christmas and New Year???

We hope Santa brought you loads of new crafting goodies and you're itching to use them.

Today we have a fab tutorial by Renee all the way from the US of A - sorry I'm still in panto rhyming mode lol!!!

I was thought this technique a while back and used it to make some cute winter scene cards, and thought i would give it another go but with a bit of a twist.

You will need a xyron machine or sticker maker, you colored image and some stampendous embossing powder (kaleidoscope transparent), and a used dryer sheet the more used even better! lol

color your image as brightly as you can.

Run it through your sticker maker /Xyron machine face down....make sure you rub the paper with the sticky stuff on to the image a little extra to make sure it sticks and comes off with out pulling up some of the sticky.

Lay the used dryer sheet over the top of your image and pat down.

Sprinkle embossing powder over image, if you don't have embossing powder you can just use fine martha stewart crystal glitter, you will just have to skip the heating part of the process.

trim off excess dryer sheet

run through your cuttlebug or cutting machine if you want to add a shape to your image...

using a heat tool, heat up the image till you can see it becoming more clear, but be careful it could catch on fire if you do it to long. It never happened to me...I'm just saying..........

then add your image to your project ! cute winter type feel to your image! have fun and experiment!

Teddy Bo Tuesday...the first of the year!

Happy New Year to you all!!

All at Teddy Bo Towers hope that you have an enjoyable time whatever you do to celebrate the season.

All the girls are safely back at the Towers but unfortunately 'someone' brought the cold back with them and we've had one or two little coughs and splutters but hopefully we're all regaining full strength. The groups MOJO also decided to take a holiday and has returned for a few of the girls but thankfully some of the other girls asked Santa for lots of Mojo for Christmas and the man in red delivered!! ;O)

We have some exciting news as D'Arcy's Diaries opens on Thursday 12th January and the girls have been making cards like crazy and if you visit some of the DT's blogs you can see what they've been up to.

My card for Tuesday using Teddy Bo165, the papers we a freebie from somewhere and its matted onto a kraft card. The ribbon is recycled from a christmas present! I did build the card around the ribbon because I loved it so much lol! I have also added a couple of buttons too :0)

Good morning everybody!

I hope you all are great and having a great holiday.

Just popping by today to show you one of the latest card I have made with an Old Teddy Bea image.

I have used the lovely Teddy Bea as a kitten, and I think she is fantastic!
Gabriella, my three year old saw this image on Chrissy's challengecard and she started to cry when I said I didn't have that image..But mom, I love it she cryed...
Sooo like the kind mother I am, I asked the lovely Teddy Bo boss herself if she please could help me out! Of course bloglands best boss did that and the monster fell alsleep with the grapics in her hand.. She has made a lot of "cards" with this image and today it was my turn :)

It's Thursday it's time for Teddy bo Top Tips

It's been a bit quiet here at the towers with a lot of us having sneaked off for a Christmas free of camels, haggis and Various versions of Veggie Vodka so we don't have a new tutorial for you this week.

We do know that some of you will still be playing with your bears over the holidays so you can spend it doing some revision of our lessons.

The next tutorial will be on 5th January when hopefully if you've all been good the fat man in the red suit will have left you lots of lovely new things to play with.

This baby wall hanging was made by doing a modeling paste transfer onto material. I then sewed my material around the square with the image, and added some padding and sewed the back with matching fabric. Then i machine quilted with the swirls and then sewed around the edges. I added prima flowers some buttons and rhinestones and some polka dotted ribbon. This is the new release image Teddybeabo_094.

I've coloured her with copic's and added clear glitter pen on her heart and a touch of glamour dust on her wings.

The banner is from TEDDYBOBEA_091_SWAG. A little bit of glamour dust was added to the swag.

The trellis punch is by Martha Stewart, papers by Bo Bunny Enchanted collection, and card candi by Craftwork cards.

I have used DARCYSDIARIES-001 for both of these cards. They have both been coloured in with Promarkers. The top card was made with a digi kit which I played around in Photoshop (ooooo get me!) the second card is made using scrap bit of papers and the most gorgeous button ever! I wanted to show that by using the same image but coloured with such different colours it really changes the image itself.

I made this 7.5 x 10 journal for my first DARCYSDIARIES_002 image! I mod podged some pretty rose paper on the journal front and a rose color to the back. I then spread white paint to them with a scraper and put on a thin layer for a shabby chic look. Added some rose lace ribbon to the edge. The image is colored with promarkers, I added the heart and wings in a 3D fashion , and added some gold stickles to the wings and pink distress stickles to the heart. Gold glitter dotting the edge. I tied the jounal with some sheer green ribbon. And MY HEART JOURNAL and fun print to the front!
