Teddy Bo & Co: It's Thursday again and it's time for...................

I have no idea where the weeks are rushing away to although I would prefer it to be a little warmer, dryer and less windy - don't want much do I???!!!???

This week we have a real doozy for you - it'll jump right off the page at you coz we have a tutorial for a fantabulous pop up box by our narrator and driver Colette :c)

You will need;-

A4 plain cardstock (I used Kraft)

Co-ordinating plain and patterned cardstock and paper

Coloured image (Bauble)

Ribbon and embellishments

Ruler, Knife, scoring tool, and usual crafting tools, tapes etc.

1. Cut two strips of plain card each measuring 29.6cm (longest length of A4 card) x 8cms.

2. Use diagram below as a guide to cut and score card.

3. Cut out sections as show in diagram above.

4. Fold all scored lines.

5. Cut a piece of patterned or plain card to measure 12 x 9.5cms.

Down the 12cm side, score at 1cm and 6.5cms.

Apply double sided tape to the 1cm strip.
Fold and stick to make a sleeve.

6. Lay strips out as show in picture below and insert the lower sections (sliders) into the sleeve,

one from the right and one from the left.

Make sure sleeve slides freely, if not trim a small amount from the top of the sliders and try again.

7. Apply double sided tape to the 1cm strip and stick into place on front

of slider strip (slide sleeve out of the way first), lining up box edges, to form a triangle,

slide sleeve along and then repeat with other side.

Your box is now complete and ready to decorate.

Decorating the box

If using tissue paper, apply to sleeve after step 5 and before making up box.

Stick three strips of double sided tape across both the front and back of the sleeve, one near the bottom, one across the middle and one near the top.

Take a piece of tissue that is roughly twice the length and twice the height of the sleeve, scrunch it up a little and then stick across the back of the sleeve, scrunching it up across the length as you go. If any overhangs the bottom of the sleeve, trim so that it is level with the bottom.

On the front of the sleeve, remove the backing from the top strip of tape and attach the bauble to it, roughly in the centre of the sleeve. Remove the remaining backing strips and attach the tissue paper in the same way as before, shaping it a little around the bauble then carry on assembling the box from step 6 above.

Flaps and finishing

Cut 4 pieces of plain co-ordinating card that measure slightly smaller all around, than the flaps. Cut 4 pieces of patterned paper slightly smaller again. Mat and layer the paper onto the card and then attach one to each flap.

Cut 2 pieces of plain or printed papers that measure approximately 8.5 x 4.5cms, stamp sentiments onto these and stick to the rear of the box on the bottom sections.

You could also computer generate your sentiments, instead of stamping.

Decorate flaps with ribbons and embellishments of your choice.
